Twin Suns Report : VTC Games and More - Mansfield [ 10-03-2026 ]

 Homeworlds release day!  I took the Grand Moff Tarkin challenge and played Tarkin / Green (Naboo).  I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, that I was the only 0-4 player and dead last in the rankings.

So we have the data to prove Tarkin is not the greatest leader in limited.  You're welcome :-P

Then we played a Twin Suns game.

It was also brought to my attention that some people aren't seeing all of my posts on the blog.  I looked into it and indeed the experience is a hot mess compared to what I'd assume Google is capable of making.  Until I got the layout sorted on mobile, I'll also include a link to my non deck module stuff I blog about...putting them into a 'Hotness' tag.  It goes back pretty far.  I mean, I'm talking about how Colossus just might be the best Twin Suns base.  That long ago.

This is a Twin Suns Card : Seasoned Fleet Admiral

  If you aren't aware yet, just so we're all on the same page with this unit, I'm gonna spoil the broken nature of this unit first.  In Twin Suns, the plan token ensures that as long as you don't pick the plan token, the Seasoned Fleet Admiral will be guaranteed to give out an XP token to itself or another unit near the end of every phase at a minimum .  As long as Twin Suns still uses the plan token to draw a card that is.  So on that alone he's worth putting in your deck.  Let's add to his list of pros: He is base command so he'll fit in villainy or heroism decks He's an Official, which is a useful trait now that Secrets of Power is out. He can be played turn 1.  Start getting that XP token value ASAP.  Several popular Twin Suns leaders draw cards.  Catch them off guard, or at the very least, stall their card draw. This Is A Twin Suns Card : No Bargain

  I agree this card isn't super amazing, but value wise I've started to feel it's worth putting in.  Every time I've played it, it felt like a positive outcome for me.  Seeing my opponents faces is all the evidence I need.  Make no mistake, this card is mostly about discarding your opponents card(s) for 2 resources, and you also, as a bonus, draw a card for an additional resource.   Stalling on my 2nd or 3rd turn to make sure my opponents future turns are potentially ruined?  Especially in 5+ player games?  Absolutely worth the value.  The hard part is recognizing when you should play it.  Keep tabs on players hands.  When it gets down to 2 cards in hand for a player is usually the best time to strike.  You know at least one player will discard a card they don't want to which is enough value in my opinion. This Is A Twin Suns Card : Blade Three - Bane Of The Devastator

    Not since Seasoned Fleet Admiral have I seen a table get so hyperfocused on removing a unit after seeing it work.  It's easily worth the cost.  Even if you don't try to protect it, you should get your value from it.  But if you wanted to deter the table from messing with it, you could use such cards as Shadowed Intentions, pilots, and any number of upgrades to improve Blade Three's survivability. And mess with it they might.  All of a sudden your base might not get attacked as much.  Getting hit for 1 damage now potentially has far less value for your opponents, with you getting to return that damage in kind.  Plenty of cards will also damage bases for some small damage which may not head your way now.  And let's not forget the Blast Token.  Which is to say in Twin Suns, you're practically guaranteed advantage tokens unless you take the Blast Token yourself.
