Twin Suns Draft Report : Great Stories - Whitinsville [ 04-21-2026 ]
This night was different. We decided to try a new format I've been cooking up with input from everyone. A 5 Booster Twin Suns Draft.
We opened our boosters and drafted the leaders one pick; pass left. Here are the 5 leaders I drafted.
My first pick was Vel and from there I just wanted to get another Leader to pair with her so I drafted all Heroic leaders. Never saw Beckett / Saw or I would've pulled them too.
I think I wanted to for sure play with Vel. I wasn't sure about the other leader though. I did have Hera, and we were playing Lawless bases, so I decided to be super open minded and grab anything impactful I saw that wasn't Villainy. After a few boosters, hopefully the Universe gives me a sign.
We drafted the packs pick 2 and alternating on passing starting with right. On the second pack I pulled Enfys Nest's Helmet, so I started to focus on Aggression/Vigilance when I could. I saw a lot of good cunning/credit stuff getting passed around so I started grabbing all the Cunning. Knowing that I can splash a few off aspect cards and still be viable (as long as it wasn't villainy) gave me more freedom in picking value over aspect.
I was fortunate that great cards were being passed to me in heroism, so I managed to grab cards like Anakin Skywalker, The Ghost, Weazel, Cloud Rider Veteran.
After drafting everything and organizing the cards, it was clear that I needed to go Aggression/Cunning/Vigilance and splash in Command. I didn't really feel like playing Han, so I chose Vel and Enfys. I had never played Enfys so in a way I was looking forward to it. I had a lot of good first turn plays, and a few big units if I ran out of steam.
My game plan was to play sticky units and buff them with Vel. I didn't really have enough triggers to focus on using Enfys' leader ability, so I told myself not to worry about it and just maximize Enfys when deployed.

Game 1
Winner - Tobias Beckett & Darth Vader (7) w/ Imperial Command Complex
Game 2

We opted to not play a 3rd game since we started later than we'd like. I do think doing pick 2 for the draft was a great idea and shouldn't prevent future events from completing 3 games. Just need to start at a reasonable time.

Draft Musings
- Enfys is better than I expected, but she's still mid in draft. I was able to get extra shields by doubling Finn, extra damage by doubling Cloud-Rider Veteran, so I'm happy to say that Enfys did impact games. I never got to play the helmet, but I'm convinced there's enough cards in the set to make Enfys viable in draft. In fact I plan on exploring Enfys with a module in the future based on this draft deck. It's worth noting that while I never got a chance, Enfys can also double Vel's ability. I just spent too much time using Cloud-Rider Veteran as a shotgun to hit all my opponents.
- Aurra Sing made more of an impact in our games than we expected. She really does feel like a sniper in the game. Well played FFG.
- Saw Gerrera can be a jerk.
Format Final Thoughts
- This was a a lot of fun. I was mostly concerned whether drafting 5 leaders would be enough, and everyone felt like it was. There is a concern with Saw/Beckett trivializing the deck building process as they didn't have to worry about aspects at all. I don't think it made their decks overpowered, but it might make it less fun/challenging to draft. I guess we'll have to play more, potentially with sets other than LAW, and see if it's something we need to tweak.
- This didn't seem to take any longer than a normal draft. The only downside for adoption I think would be lack of Melee support. I will certainly be pushing this format more to my local groups.
