This Is A Twin Suns Card : Val - It's Been A Ride, Babe
With the release of LAW the Cunning/Vigilance Underworld package got quite a boost. Beckett, with his team, has given us a few new toys to play with. One in particular shines in Twin Suns, Val. In Premiere the When Defeated is likely a drawback, unless you put Val in a deck with Darth Vader - Twilight of the Apprentice or something else clever. In Twin Suns it becomes a bargaining tool.
Stats wise it's your average 2 cost body with 2 power and 4 life. The When Played is significant unless you played Val on turn 1. So probably avoid doing that if you can, Val is a turn 1 play only for emergencies. On any other turn Val can shield up other units. For 2 resources and the stats, I'm in, we already have great value. Then when she's defeated, let the negotiations begin.
For example, offer to give the shield to an enemy leader in exchange for that leader not attacking your units or your base for the phase. Lots of players will take that deal. Now the 'threat assessment algorithm' potentially points away from you. I mean there's a leader unit with a shield now that won't be attacking you. Your other opponents are probably thinking 'that's the new threat to me', right?
Remember that shield has value. Negotiate what you can for it.
